July 4th pictures

On the 4th of July, we went down to the Whole Food's headquarter with some friends in downtown Austin to see the fireworks. The event was held on the top floor of their building where you can see the firework clearly. They charged $7 for each adult to donate to the fire department. It was well worth-it because we didn't have to be in the crowd with other people to hunt for a spot around the park. Lots of people would 'abandon' their cars right along highway MoPac and walk to the park!!

So we had some wine and Euna played in their playground with her friends.
Then she wanted to have balloon and poor Daddy waited in line with her for ages. I even had to switch with him to go to the restroom because the wait was so bad.

Finally when Euna was the forth in line to get balloons, she changed her mind and said: Daddy, I don't want any balloon any more. Daddy was glad that his smart girl came to have such a practical realization. They went to get some ice cream instead.

The next part of pics are my pesto sauce making and Euna jamming on her cello and ukulele.

When 'The Opposite Day' went horribly wrong...

It's July the 4th. A great day to start a new blog.
We started the day with some home-made pancake, hot mocha, and some nice cappuccino.
Everything went peacefully after a big negotiation between Daddy and Euna about what to listen to for breakfast; Euna requested The Beatles, but we have been listening to The Beatles for....a really long time. So Daddy solicited John Lenon's solo album- Imagine John Lenon. She was fine then.

We proceeded to enjoy our pancakes until Euna got a little tired of being 'normal'. She started dipping her finger in her hot mocha, and showing off her double-layered mini pancakes off in the air.

Smart daddy came up a new parenting idea:

"let's start The Opposite Day!" Euna opened her eyes wide with a 'REALLY?' look.

"Wow, this pancake tastes yucky!" Euna repeated.
"Wow I am so SAD." Euna copied.
After several fun tests, Euna started to get a bit too excited and confused. I guess it is hard to act bad after you are told to act good for 4 years!!

Then before I could think straight, Euna poured her mocha onto her pancake plate with a big smile...whattha???

Then I realized that I seemed to hear Daddy yelled with joy:"Spill your mocha!!"

Daddy and I just got so amused and laughed. Poor girl felt her confidence crushed and ran back to her room and cried.....we had to convince her opposite day was over, and let her eat Daddy's pancakes.
